BMW

BMW automobiles are thought of as a driver's car -- the ultimate driving machine!  For the most part, those purchasing a BMW will not be disappointed, the cars perform and handle better than most other cars on the road.

It's extremely easy to decipher and understand the full BMW line-up of automobiles.  Essentially, BMW designed three classes of automobiles, four passenger cars, two passenger roadsters, and SUVs. Within these segments, there are a series of models which in turn offer various engine and performance  packages. BMW traditionally uses either a number or a letter to describe the model number and a number after that which corresponds to the engine displacement size.

BMW 3 Series
In North America, the four passenger entry level model is known as the 3 series. The all-new entry level 2006 328i starts at only $33,300 and because of its high residual (resale) values, lease rates are extraordinarily low. The redesigned BMW 2006 330i at $36,300 is also a new model offering 300 horsepower and a large list of standard equipment.  The 328xi and 330xi are four-wheel-drive sedans.

BMW 5 Series
The larger five series has also been recently redesigned. All 5 series automobiles are four-door rear wheel drive sedans. Prices range from $41,800 for there 528i sedan to over  $55,800 for the 545i sedan.  A new high-performance M5 is also available.

BMW 6 Series
The new 325 hp 6 series 645ci coupe starting at $69,900 and the 645ci convertible starting at $76,900 are two-door, high-performance, personal luxury automobiles.

BMW 7 Series
The 7 Series comes in a slightly smaller "i" short wheelbase and the "Li" long wheelbase model. The 745's  4.4 liter engine produces 325-hp and the V12 760 produces 438-hp. Prices range from about $70.000 to about $117,300.

BMW X Series
BMW X Series are all wheel drive 4 door SUVs. The X3 2.5 starts at $30,300, the BMW X5 3.0i lists for $41,700, and the top of the line BMW X5 4.8 lists for $70.100. BMW likes to call there SUV's "Sports Activity Vehicles" (SAV)

BMW Z4 Series
The
two Z4 models include the $34.300 Z4 Roadster 2.5i with a 2.5 liter 184-hp six and the 225-hp 3 liter Z4 Roadster 3.0i
